Richmond, VA - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams' softball team improved to 3-8 on the season on Saturday afternoon as they defeated the Lady Panthers of Virginia Union University in the second game of a CIAA doubleheader by the score of 14-6 en route to putting the finishing touches on a two-game sweep.
The Lady Rams would see pitcher Shannon Davis earn her first win of the 2005 season as she pitched five solid innings, giving up only six runs in the process as she inched ever closer to .500, moving to 1-2 on the season.
With the win, the Lady Rams improve to 3-8 overall and remain flawless at 3-0 in the CIAA.
WSSU will return to action on Sunday morning at 11:00 AM as they travel to Petersburg, VA to face the Lady Trojans of Virginia State University in a pair of CIAA league softball games.
