Lawrenceville, VA - It was over early on Sunday afternoon as the Lady Rams of Winston-Salem State University turned in a seven-run first inning and tacked on eight more runs in the second inning en route to a 23-0 victory in CIAA softball action in Lawrenceville, VA.

Every active player on the Lady Ram roster recorded at least one hit in the contest with every player scoring at least two runs. WSSU was led by LaKelsha Carney and Heather Davis who turned in four-hit games and each batted in four runs. Davis turned in a career-high 10 put-outs in the contest as well.

Recording the win was Heather Davis. Davis, a senior pitcher from Detroit, MI faced only 16 batters in the contest giving up a pair of hits while striking out 10 in five innings of work as she improved to 4-6 on the season and has started every contest for WSSU in 2004.

With the win, the Lady Rams improve to 4-6 overall while the Lady Tigers fall to 0-6. The two teams return to action at 3:00 pm when they face each other in the second game of the doubleheader.
