WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Lady Rattlers of Florida A&M University wasted no time in securing their second consecutive win over Winston-Salem State University on Saturday afternoon at Southpark Field as they hammered out nine runs in the first inning to build what would prove to be an insurmountable lead en route to a 21-3 win over the Lady Rams in non-conference softball action.
Florida A&M tallied nine first-inning runs and tacked on a lone run in the second inning, before adding two in the third inning, three in the fourth inning and closing the game with six runs in the top of the fifth inning as they pinned 21 runs on WSSU.
The Lady Rams turned in a solid first inning of play as WSSU tacked on a pair of runs courtesy of a run-scoring wild pitch and an Amber Shore RBI fielder's-choice ground out that scored Kendall Sutton.

Shore took the loss for the Lady Rams as she pitched two and third-thirds innings and gave up 10 runs. Ashley Boswell came on in relief and surrendered 11 additional runs over two and one-third innings.
Destiny Gordon earned the win for the Lady Rattlers as she improved to 1-1 overall on the season. The loss drops Shore to 3-11 on the season.
