WSSU Softball Smashes Virginia Union 17-0 In Five Innings - WINSTON-SALEM STATE OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Lady Rams of Winston-Salem State University scored 17 runs in five innings as they blew past visiting Virginia Union University in the second game of a CIAA softball doubleheader at Southpark Field in Winston-Salem, NC on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Rams scored runs in every inning as they held the Lady Panthers scoreless for the second consecutive contest.

The victory mark's WSSU's 10^th straight CIAA win as the Lady Rams improve to a perfect 10-0 in the CIAA as they jump to 12-13 on the season.

WSSU's Elyon Taylor earned the win as she pitched a complete game (five innings) to record the victory and improve to 5-6 overall in the process. Taylor, like her WSSU pitching teammate Amber Shore, remains perfect in the CIAA at 5-0.

The Lady Rams return to action on Sunday, March 26, 2006 at 12:00 PM as they play host to the Lady Trojans of Virginia State University in the first game of a twin-bill. Both contests are slated to be played at Southpark Field.
