Lady Rams Softball Defeats Virginia State University 8-0 - WINSTON-SALEM STATE OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams softball team continued their march through the CIAA as they handed perennial softball power Virginia State University an 8-0 defeat in the first game of a CIAA softball league doubleheader from Southpark Field in Winston-Salem, NC on Sunday.

WSSU's Amber Shore pitched five solid innings of two-hit softball as she struck out five Lady Trojans and walked only two on her way to her sixth win of the season as she improve to 6-7 overall and 6-0 in the CIAA.

Tyreka Cotton turned in a perfect two-for-two contest at the plate as she earned an RBI and scored once en route to helping the Lady Rams to a win.

The win improves the Lady Rams to 13-13 overall and moves WSSU to 11-0 in the CIAA. The two teams return to action at 2:00 PM in the second game of the twin-bill.
