Final Stats

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Lady Rams softball team has increased their conference win streak to an even dozen as they moved to 12-0 in the CIAA with a 10-3 win over visiting Virginia State University on Sunday afternoon at Southpark Field in Winston-Salem, NC.

WSSU pitcher Elyon Taylor scattered eight hits over seven innings as she allowed only three runs (all earned) while striking out five Lady Trojan batters en route to her sixth win of the season to move to 6-6 overall (6-0 CIAA).

Tyreka Cotton continued her success at the plate as she poster a four-for-four hitting effort in the game en route to two RBI's and two runs scored.

WSSU scored three runs in three different innings as they cruised to a seven-run win and improved to 14-13 on the season in the process.  The Lady Rams move to 12-0 in the CIAA. 

Winston-Salem State returns to action on Saturday, April 1, 2006 versus Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC.  The first game of a CIAA league doubleheader versus the Lady Blue Bears is slated to begin at 12:00 PM.
