WSSU Softball Completes Sweep Of Livingstone With 12-6 Win - WINSTON-SALEM STATE OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE

SALISBURY, NC - The Winston-Salem State University women's softball team handed the Lady Blue Bears of Livingstone College a 12-6 defeat in the second game of a CIAA softball league doubleheader on Saturday afternoon to move to a perfect 14-0 in the conference with the victory.

WSSU's Elyon Taylor pitched a complete-game, allowing only six runs while receiving 12 runs in support as she earned her seventh win of the season to move to 7-6 overall and keep her flawless 7-0 mark in the CIAA.

The Lady Rams, who sit atop of the CIAA's Western Division, now sport a 14-0 mark in the conference as they improve their overall record to 16-13, three games above .500.

WSSU will return to action on Sunday, April 2, 2006 at 12:00 pm when they play host to the Lady Bulldogs of Bowie State University in a CIAA women's softball league doubleheader. Both contests are scheduled to take place at Southpark Field in Winston-Salem, NC.
