Box Score

Salisbury, NC - The Lady Rams softball team won their 12th consecutive game on Friday afternoon as they handed the Livingstone College Lady Blue Bears an 11-2 loss in CIAA softball action held in Salisbury, NC.

The Lady Rams had no trouble with the host-team Lady Blue Bears as WSSU jumped out ahead early and cruised to their 14th win of 2004.

All but one active Lady Ram had at least one hit in the contest with three players recording multiple-hit games. WSSU was led by starting pitcher Heather Davis who helped her own cause as she went 4 for 4 in the contest scoring a pair of runs and driving in another in the win.

Davis, who improves to 11-6 with the victory, turned in a four-hitter allowing two runs on four hits (both earned) while striking out ten batters. The ten strike-out performance marks the 13th time this season that she has struck out at least ten opposing batters in a contest.

With the win, the Lady Rams improve to 14-6 overall and remain a perfect 11-0 in the CIAA and are currently riding an 11-game win streak. The Lady Blue Bears fall to 3-16 overall (3-13 CIAA) with the loss.

The two teams return to action at 5:00 pm for the second and final game of the CIAA league doubleheader.
