Winston-Salem, NC - It would take the Lady Rams of Winston-Salem State University only five innings to record their third consecutive win of the week on Tuesday afternoon at Southpark Field in Winston-Salem, NC as they defeated the visiting Lady Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University by the score of 12-4 in CIAA league softball action.
WSSU senior pitcher Shannon Davis improved to 7-6 on the season as she pitched a five-inning gem, striking out four batters and walking only three in a complete-game win. The win is Davis' third straight and third in only two days of action.
The Lady Rams improved to 10-14 overall with the win and will return to action at 4:00 PM as they will close out the day with the second and final game of the doubleheader.
Shannon Davis will continue her work on the mound as the Lady Rams look for their second series sweep in as many days.
