Lady Rams Take 5-2 Loss in Game Two of Doubleheader - WINSTON-SALEM STATE OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE

ORANGEBURG, SC - A slow start by the Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (9-24) proved costly as the team took a 5-2 loss to the South Carolina State Lady Bulldogs (3-34), Friday afternoon. The Lady Rams rallied with a pair of sixth inning runs after falling behind 5-0 in the first four innings, but were not able to pull out the win in game two of the doubleheader.

Sophomore Kendall Sutton, who drove in three runs in game one of the doubleheader continued her strong play going two-for-three from the plate with a run scored in the game. Freshman Ashley Boswell added two RBI in the loss, going 1-for-3 from the plate. A Boswell single in the sixth inning drove in sophomore Amber Shore and Sutton.

Boswell also pitched all six innings for the Lady Rams allowing just four earned runs on six hits in the loss.

The Lady Rams will return to action this weekend when they host rival North Carolina Central in a doubleheader at South Park Field In Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
