Winston-Salem, NC - The Lady Rams softball team suffered their second loss of the afternoon to North Carolina Central University in CIAA softball action on Saturday as the Lady Eagles handed WSSU an 11-0 loss in the second game of a conference softball doubleheader at South Park Field in Winston-Salem, NC.
The Lady Rams would never get on the scoreboard in the contest as stellar NCCU pitching held WSSU in check.
The third and fourth innings would ultimately prove to spell doom for the Lady Rams as NCCU tallied a trio of runs in the bottom of the third inning and five more in the bottom of the fourth inning, en route to the easy win.
The early 9-0 lead is one that easily held up as the Lady Eagles held WSSU to only five hits in the contest.
Shannon Davis was the WSSU pitcher of record as she dropped her season record to 8-11 overall. The loss drops WSSU to 11-20 overall and 11-10 in the CIAA.
The Lady Rams return to action at 1:00 PM on Sunday as they face Saint Paul's College in a make-up game at South Park Field.
