Lady Rams Take 3-1 Loss at Norfolk State - WINSTON-SALEM STATE OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE

NORFOLK, VA - The runs were hard to come by for the Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (12-28), Sunday when the team took a 3-1 loss to the Norfolk State Lady Spartans (22-20) in game one of a doubleheader. Though the Lady Rams were able to notch five hits in the contest, the team was only able to cross the plate once in the loss.

The Lady Rams got off to a slow start in the contest allowing three unanswered runs in the first three innings. Freshman Ashley Boswell hit an RBI single in the seventh inning to drive in sophomore Lonnie Jones to score the sole WSSU run of the game. However, a pair of WSSU outs would end the Lady Rams' rally and seal the loss.

Boswell (4-14) pitched all six innings of the loss allowing just three NSU runs, two of which were earned. She added five strikeouts with just two walks in the contest.
