WSSU Moves To 2-1 On Season; Defeats Claflin 4-0 In Five Innings

Lady Rams Win Second Straight Game And Pull To One Game Over .500

Feb. 9, 2004

Orangeburg, SC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams softball team improved to 2-1 on the season as they defeated Claflin in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon in a weather shortened game that lasted five innings.

The Lady Rams improved to 2-0 on the day and 2-1 on the season as Heather Davis (Sr./P/5'11"/Detroit, MI) struck out six batters as she pitched the Lady Rams to victory in her third straight pitching appearance.

The Lady Rams were paced by Shannon Davis (Jr./C/5'8"/Detroit, MI) who recorded two hits in the game. Four Lady Rams would drive in runs in the contest. The Lady Rams return to action on February 26th, 2004 at 1:00 pm as they take on Barber-Scotia in Salisbury, NC.
