Winston-Salem, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Department of Athletics announced Thursday morning that the pair of softball games scheduled between the Lady Rams and Barber-Scotia have been cancelled due to a winter storm warning that has been issued by the National Weather Service.

The doubleheader, which was slated to be played in Concord, NC has been cancelled and a make up date has not yet been announced.

WSSU Head Coach LaTaya Hilliard-Gray, in a brief interview this morning, had the following comment on the cancellation: "This was a game that we were looking forward to as it allowed us to get even more prepared for the conference opener, but at least we have three games in already (2-1 overall in 2004) and if we can get these two games in later in the season, then by all means, we will play them. However, it is all if our schedule permits. Our CIAA schedule is what matters. I guess we will just return to practicing indoors."

The WSSU Lady Rams' Softball team returns to action on March 3rd, 2004 at Civitan Park in Winston-Salem, NC as they host Lees-McRae at 1:00 pm in the first game of a double-header.
