WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The WSSU softball team heads to Greensboro, North Carolina this weekend as they take to the diamond for the 2008 North Carolina A&T Lady Aggies Softball Invitational where they will play four games in three days as they face Maryland-Eastern Shore, Mississippi Valley State and North Carolina A&T in a bid to emerge as the champion of the Lady Aggies Softball Invitational.

The Opponent...The Lady Rams, a team that has played 10 games already this season, will face the

Up Next...Following the contest versus the Lady Hawks, the Lady Rams will play a twin-bill on Saturday, facing Mississippi Valley State at 12:00 p.m. and North Carolina A&T at 2:00 p.m. before Sunday's championship rounds.
Home Runs Aplenty...The WSSU Lady Rams have six home runs this season. Through 10 games in 2007-08 WSSU has doubled last season's home run total as the Lady Rams only recorded only three home runs all of last season.
Three Above .500...Headed into this weekend's action, the Lady Rams currently have three players batting .400 or better. Georgette Twitty leads WSSU with a .500 batting average; Kayla Woodbury is hitting .478; and Whitney Hall is checking in with a batting average of .400. Of those three player's combined total of 20 hits, seven for have been hits for extra bases.
About The Aggies...North Carolina A&T enters into this weekend's play with a 5-1 overall record as they started the season on a four-game win streak before splitting a pair of games with Gardner-Webb. WSSU's Tuesday doubleheader versus North Carolina A&T was postponed due to rain.
About The Delta Devilettes...The Mississippi State University Delta Devilettes enter into the weekend with an overall record of 7-7 overall as they head into Saturday's meeting with the Lady Rams. The two teams have never met. MVSU is a member of the South Western Athletic Conference (SWAC), the MEAC's sister conference.
