Winston-Salem, NC - Shannon Davis and LaKelsha Carney were named the Winston-Salem State University Women's Softball Co-MVPs on Wednesday April 28th, 2004 at the 2004 WSSU Athletic Awards Banquet that was held at the McNeil Ballroom of the Anderson Center.
Davis, a junior catcher from Detroit, MI and a 2003 Second-Team All-CIAA selection helped to lead the Lady Rams to a 21-9 overall record on the season as she batted .375 on the season and drove in 22 RBI's. She recorded a team-high 155 put outs and collected 19 assists as she turned in a fielding percentage of .926.
Carney, a senior third-baseman and shortstop helped to lead the Lady Rams to a 21-9 overall record as she batted .389 on the season and collected 21 RBI's. She tallied 47 put-outs and turned in a .936 fielding percentage.
For their efforts, they were named the WSSU Women's Softball Co-MVP's and were recognized at WSSU's Annual Athletic Awards Banquet.
