Lady Rams Take 5-1 Win Over Shepherd in Hilton Head, S.C.

HILTON HEAD, SC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (5-3) notched their second straight win, Tuesday when the team took a 5-1 win over the Shepherd Rams (0-5). The Lady Rams took the key Atlantic region win behind a great effort I doubles play in the match.

 

The Lady Rams got things going early with three straight wins in doubles play to jump on top, 3-0. The #2 doubles tandem of senior Bianka Locklear and junior Kalin Jarvis led the way for the team with an 8-1 win while the tandem of Dominique Lindsay and Taylor Harris recorded an 8-2 win. The team's toughest doubles match came at the #1 spot where the duo of senior Sloane Holmes and Kayla Carter combined for an 8-5 win.

 

With the impressive doubles wins, the Lady Rams needed just two singles wins to secure the victory. Carter took a 6-0, 6-1 win, followed by fellow Locklear sealing the win with a 6-1, 6-1 win.
