Lady Rams Take 9-0 Loss to #35 Indiana (Pa.); WSSU Streak Snapped

WINSTON-SALEM, NC –The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (11-5, 10-1 CIAA) had their six-game winning streak snapped when the team took a tough 9-0 loss to the #35 Indiana (Pa.) Crimson Hawks. The Lady Rams gave a valiant effort in the match, but could not get past the nationally ranked Hawks.

The WSSU struggles started early when the team took losses in all three doubles matches, falling 8-3, 8-2, and 8-2. The WSSU struggles carried over into singles play when losses in all six singles matches. WSSU senior Bianka Locklear had the best effort for the team taking a 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 loss.

The Lady Rams will need to recover quickly as the team will return to conference play, hosting the defending Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) champion Shaw Lady Bears, Monday.
