Lady Rams Take Tough 9-0 Loss to West Liberty State

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (2-3) took their third straight loss, Saturday when the team took a hard-fought 9-0 loss to the West Liberty State Hilltoppers (10-1). The Lady Rams gave a great overall effort in the match, but could not stand up against the talented Hilltopper team.

The Lady Rams opened the match with three doubles losses falling 8-0 at #2 doubles and 8-3 at #1 doubles and a default loss at #3 doubles. From there, the Lady Rams carried their battle into singles play, but fell in all eight matches. The team took a forfeit loss at #8 doubles and followed it with a 6-0, 6-0 loss at #5 singles, a 6-0, 6-2 loss at #2 singles, and 6-1, 6-2 losses at #3 and #4 singles. The Lady Rams closed out the day with a 6-2, 6-1 loss at #1 singles.
