    BOWIE, MD – The Winston-Salem State Rams (12-7) gave a valiant effort, but the team came up short in a 4-0 loss to the top-seeded Shaw Lady Bears (16-9), Friday afternoon in the semifinal round of the 2019 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women’s Tennis Championship Tournament.  Though the team’s season came to an end, the team fought for every point in the tough loss.

    BOWIE, MD – The Winston-Salem State Rams (12-6) took an impressive hard-fought win over the Fayetteville State Broncos (7-10), Thursday afternoon in the quarterfinal round of the 2019 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Tennis Championship Tournament. Though the team took the shutout win, the team had to work hard to get it against a Fayetteville State team that had a lot of heart.

    CHARLOTTE, NC – After a terrific sophomore season, Winston-Salem State’s Avion Harris was honored with a selection to the 2019 CIAA All-Conference team. As one of the top tennis players on the team, Harris has been honored for her instrumental role on the Rams’ strong performance this season.

    CHARLOTTE, NC- The Winston-Salem State Rams tennis team will seek post-season glory as the team prepares for the 2019 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women’s Tennis Championship Tournament. After a terrific regular season, the Rams will enter the tournament as the fourth overall seed.
  • Rams Close Regular Season with a 7-2 Win at Meredith

    RALEIGH, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (11-6) closed the 2019 regular season in style when the team took a 7-2 road win over the Meredith Avenging Angels (6-9), Tuesday afternoon. The win marked the fifth straight for the Rams and gave the team and key non-conference win heading into the post-season.
  • Rams Take a 4-2 Win Over Virginia State for Third Straight Victory

    DURHAM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (10-6, 9-3 CIAA) remained on a hot streak when the team took a 4-2 win over the Virginia State Trojans (8-4, 7-2 CIAA) Trojans, Saturday afternoon. The win was the third straight win for the Rams and their ninth win in their last 11 matches.
  • Rams Upset Johnson C. Smith for a 4-3 Win

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (9-6, 8-3 CIAA) got their biggest win of the season, Wednesday, when the team took a 4-3 upset win over the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls (11-10, 8-1 CIAA). The Rams handed the Golden Bulls their first Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) loss of the season.

    CHARLOTTE, NC – For the second straight week, a Winston-Salem State Rams tennis player has been honored as the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Tennis Player of the Week. This week, WSSU senior Tay’lor Champion was honored as the CIAA Tennis Player of the Week.
  • Rams Claim a Thrilling 4-3 Win Over Averett

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (6-5) came back in singles play to claim a 4-3 win over the Averett Cougars (5-3), Saturday afternoon. After losing the doubles point, the Rams got all four points in singles play to claim the victory.

    FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (5-5, 5-2 CIAA) goat a key Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division win when the team took a 6-3 road win over the Fayetteville State Broncos (4-5, 3-3 CIAA), Thursday afternoon. The Rams stayed hot to claim their third straight victory.

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams tennis team was rewarded for a great week when sophomore Avion Harris was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Player of the Week. She earned the honor after leading the Rams to a 4-1 record over the week.

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (3-5, 3-2 CIAA) earned its third Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) win, Sunday morning when the team took a 7-0 win over the Virginia Union Panthers. The win was a big one for the Rams who are looking to move up the ranks in the conference standings.
  • Rams Close Out CIAA Round Up with a 5-1 Win Over Bowie State

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-5, 4-2 CIAA) closed the weekend in style when the team took a 5-1 win over the Bowie State Bulldogs at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Round Up. With the win, the Rams finished the weekend with three wins and only one loss.

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (2-4, 2-1 CIAA) kept up their winning ways when the team took a 6-0 win over the Elizabeth City State Vikings (0-4, 0-3 CIAA) at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Round Up. The win marked the second straight CIAA win for the Rams who also claimed a road win at Livingstone, Thursday.

    SALISBURY, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (1-4, 1-1 CIAA) put on a dominant performance when the team took a 6-0 road win over the Livingstone Blue Bears (0-4, 0-3 CIAA), Thursday afternoon. The Rams got the win behind their best performance of the season.

Playing against the reigning Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), the Rams gave a solid effort, but the team came up short in the tough loss.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (0-1) opened the 2019 season with a strong effort, but the team could not get past the Salem Tigers (5-2), Sunday afternoon. Playing in high winds, the Rams played some quality tennis but came up just short in the loss.
  • Rams Women's Tennis to Hold Fall Tryouts

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Do you have a love for the game of tennis, but were unsure about whether or not you could compete on the collegiate level? Well, now you have the chance to find out as the Winston-Salem State University women’s tennis team will hold open tryouts from Monday, August 27th through Thursday, August 30th at 4:30 p.m. at the WSSU Tennis Courts on the campus of Winston-Salem State University. The tryout is open to currently enrolled students of Winston-Salem State University.
