Rams Take a 6-1 Loss at Shaw

RALEIGH, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (6-6, 5-3 CIAA) had their four-match winning streak ended when the team took a 6-1 road loss to the defending Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) champion Shaw Lady Bears (11-6, 9-1 CIAA), Sunday afternoon.

Default wins at #3 doubles and #6 singles were all that the Rams could get in the tough loss. Sophomore Avion Harris had the best effort as she took a 6-3, 3-6, 5-10 loss at #2 singles.

With the loss, the Rams fall to 6-6 overall and 5-3 in CIAA play. The team also falls into 2-3 in CIAA Southern Division play. The team will return to action, Tuesday afternoon when they host the division leading Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls.
