Lady Rams Tennis Drops First Match To Virginia State 5-2 - WINSTON-SALEM STATE OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem State University women's tennis team fell in defeat to the Trojans of Virginia State University on Saturday morning in CIAA women's tennis action from Petersburg, VA by the score of 5-2.

The Lady Rams earned points at the fourth singles flight as Ashley Hopper earned a 7-5, 6-4 victory and at second doubles where Monica Ball and Hopper combined to earn WSSU's second, and final, point with an 8-6 win.

The two points would not be enough as the Lady Bulldogs earned five points en route to the win. With the loss, the Lady Rams fall to 1-3 overall (1-1 CIAA). WSSU returns to action on at 3:00 pm when they again travel to Petersburg, VA to face the Trojans of Virginia State University at the VSU Tennis Complex in the second match of a tennis twin-bill.
