Richmond, VA - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams' tennis team earned their first win of the season on Sunday as they defeated the Lady Panthers of Virginia Union University by the score of 5-1 in CIAA women's tennis action in Richmond, VA.

The Lady Rams won four of the five singles matches and upon emerging victorious in the first doubles match earned the victory by the score of 5-1.

WSSU earned victories at second, third, fourth and fifth singles, and the first doubles slot. Virginia Union scored their lone point of the afternoon at first singles.

The Lady Rams, who improve to 1-3 overall on the season return to action on March 18th, 2004 when they travel to Charlotte, NC to face the Lady Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University in a CIAA tennis doubleheader.
