Winston-Salem, NC- The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams did something on Saturday afternoon at the WSSU Tennis Complex that they had not done all season...they won two consecutive matches. The two straight wins helped to vault WSSU back into the hunt for a CIAA Western Division tennis title and improved WSSU to 3-5 overall on the season.
The Lady Rams, who were fresh off their late-morning victory over the Lady Blue Bears (by the score of 6-3), not only matched their first match success, but bettered it by a point, easily nailing down a 7-2 victory over CIAA rival Livingstone College.
The Lady Rams would fall in defeat in only two events, emerging victorious in the remaining seven contests to secure the win. With the victory, the Lady Rams improve to 3-5 overall on the season.
WSSU returns to action on March 26th, 2004 when they play host to the Lady Vikings of Elizabeth City State University at the WSSU Tennis Complex in an important CIAA league doubleheader. The first serve is scheduled for 12:00 pm.
