WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's tennis team swept Winston-Salem State 7-0 Thursday afternoon at the WSSU Tennis Complex as the Lady Rams fell to 1-16 on the season.
The Bulldogs won all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Devon Cavanaugh and Louise Bottomley posted a 8-0 victory Asia Nelson and Gabrielle Benjamin in the No. 2 match. Nicole Schon and Tania Mateva also posted a shutout as they defeated Dashawna Gibson and Tina Wright 8-0 in the No. 3 match.
Asheville dominated the singles competition as the Lady Rams were only able to win a combined total of 4 games in 12 sets.
The victory improves the Bulldogs' record to 7-5 on the season. Winston-Salem State drops to 1-16 with the loss.

The Lady Rams return to action on Friday, April 3 at 3:00 pm as they face the Lady Bears of Shaw at the WSSU Tennis Complex.
