Lady Rams Tennis Defeats Saint Augustine's College 6-1

Final Stats

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams improved to 4-5 overall and 3-4 in the CIAA on Thursday afternoon as they defeated the Lady Falcons of Saint Augustine's College by the score of 6-1 in CIAA league tennis action from the WSSU Tennis Complex in Winston-Salem, NC.

The Lady Rams swept all five of the singles matches that were played on the afternoon as only Saint Augustine's Aurea Griffith and Aria Loveland recorded more than four points in a set as WSSU proved dominant in all the singles events.

The Lady Falcons earned their only point of the match at first doubles as Griffith and Loveland teamed up to defeat Amanda Walker and Carmen Davis 8-5.

However, the point would prove to be too little, too late as the Rams cruised to the easy win and pulled one match closer to .500 overall (at 4-5).

The Lady Rams return to action on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 2:00 PM when they play host to the Lady Vikings of Elizabeth City State University at the WSSU Tennis Complex.
