Final Stats

HAMPTON, VA - Hampton University head men's and women's tennis coach Dr. Robert Martin Screen collected his 1000th career coaching win after the Hampton University men's and women's tennis team defeated Winston-Salem State University 7-0 at the Neilson-Screen Tennis Stadium on the campus of Hampton University. Screen currently stands at 1001-245 overall and has become only the third man in Division I tennis history to accomplish this feat.

Dr. Robert Screen is in his 35th season as head coach of the Hampton University Men's and Women's Tennis program. He is the winningest coach all-time among active NCAA Division I coaches for men's and women's tennis. Not only does Dr. Screen hold this impressive position amongst collegiate coaches, but he is also the most successful African-American tennis coach in the history of the game.

The Hampton University women's team notched the 1001st victory for Screen by downing the Lady Rams 7-0 with a pair of Pirates winning in straight sets.

WSSU was swept in all five singles matches and dropped all three doubles matches as Hampton cruised the victory.

With the win, the Lady Pirates improve to 10-5 overall on the season.  WSSU dropped to 2-15 overall with the loss.

WSSU returns to action at 2:00 pm as they face the Hornets of Delaware State University at the Neilson-Screen Tennis Stadium on the campus of Hampton University.
