Final Stats

RICHMOND, VA - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams' tennis team fell in defeat to the Lady Panthers of Virginia Union University in a CIAA women's tennis league contest in Richmond, VA as WSSU fell to 6-7 overall and 5-6 in the CIAA.

The Lady Rams were blanked in all seven matches as the third doubles and sixth singles matches were not held.

Ashley Hopper nearly earned the Lady Rams' lone point as she fell in defeat to Shannon Barksdale in a three-set marathon match by the score of 0-6, 6-3, 4-6. 

The loss drops WSSU to 6-7 overall and moves WSSU's CIAA record to one game below .500 at 5-6 in league play.

The Lady Rams return to action on Thursday, April 6, 2006 versus North Carolina Central University at the WSSU Tennis Complex.
