Winston-Salem, NC - The Shaw University Lady Bears tennis team cruised to an easy victory by the score of 7-1 over Winston-Salem State University in CIAA women's tennis action from the WSSU Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon.
Shaw recorded wins at seven of the nine flights in the match as WSSU won at only the third doubles flight as the team of Janet Wheeler and Ashley Hopper defeated A. Ake and R. Oyelade. The Lady Bears would have recorded an 8-1 win were it not for Janet Wheeler's sixth-singles match remaining unfinished.
WSSU returns to action on Saturday, April 2nd, 2005 in Winston-Salem, NC at 1:00 PM as they play host to Virginia Union University in a CIAA women's tennis league contest.
