WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University women’s tennis team fell to 1-17 on the season on Friday afternoon at the WSSU Tennis Complex as Shaw University handed the Rams a 4-3 heartbreaking defeat on their home court.
The two teams split the singles matches as Shaw earned points at first, second and third singles and the Lady Rams earned points at fourth, fifth and sixth singles.
The contest would come down to the all-important doubles matches, matches that Shaw would win a pair of en route to the match victory.
The Lady Rams return to action on Saturday in Winston-Salem as they play host to George Mason at 4:00 p.m.
