Women's Tennis Suffers 9-0 Defeat At The Hands Of Lady Broncos

April 7, 2005

Final Stats

Winston-Salem, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams' tennis team ran into the juggernaut that is the Lady Bronco tennis team of Fayetteville State University on Thursday afternoon at the WSSU tennis complex in Winston-Salem, NC promptly falling in defeat by the score of 9-0 as the three-time defending CIAA women's champs cruised to a win over the host-team.

The Lady Broncos would win every match on the day as they breezed through the singles flights with only WSSU's Amanda Walker recording more than three points in the eight-game pro-set as she fell in defeat to LeJaquelyn Artis by the score of 9-7 in the third singles flight.

The six singles points would be enough to secure the win, yet the Lady Broncos continued on to sweep the doubles flights as well en route to the 9-0 win.

The Lady Rams fall to 8-7 overall with the loss. WSSU also drops to 6-7 in the CIAA following the defeat.

WSSU returns to action on Saturday, April 9th, 2005 as the Lady Rams travel to Elizabeth City, NC to take on the Lady Vikings of Elizabeth City State University. The match between the two CIAA rivals will begin at 11:00 AM.
