Winston-Salem, NC - The Winston-Salem State University women's tennis team cruised to a 5-2 victory over the Lady Falcons of Saint Augustine's College on Saturday afternoon at the WSSU Tennis Complex by the score of 5-2 as WSSU improved to 10-7 on the season in 2005.
The Lady Falcons would win only two flights in the match as they secured wins at the first singles and first doubles flights.
Aurea Griffith defeated Amber Stewart at first singles by the score of 8-2 and she combined with Jennifer Sterling at first doubles to defeat Amanda Walker and Trinette Lewis by the score of 9-8 (8-5) to earn SAC the two points they would receive in the match.
WSSU posted wins at every other flight as the Lady Rams easily won the match.
The two teams will return to action at 2:00 PM as they close out the 2005 CIAA tennis regular season.
