ATLANTA, Ga. - The Winston-Salem State University women's tennis team had a difficult day of competition on the second day of the HBCU Tennis Invitational from Atlanta, Georgia on Friday evening as they posted an 0-6 record, losing all six decisions.
The WSSU women opened action as the pairing of Kayla Carter/Sloan Holmes dropped a 5-8 decision to Bethune-Cookman University's pairing of Peterson/Paul.
Johanna Nunez and Bianka Locklear dropped a 3-8 decision to Prairie View A&M's Guerrier/Barrera and Chelsea Chatman/Kalin Jarvis lost a 4-8 decision to Hampton University's pairing of Myers/Tabita.
In women's consolation bracket singles action the Lady Rams were held to an 0-3 record as Kalin Jarvis dropped a 6-8 decision to Cayla Cross of North Carolina A&T; Kayla Carter fell in defeat to Prairie View A&M's Melissa Guerrier 5-8 and Chelsea Chatman fell to Kathline Dardun of Florida A&M 3-8.
WSSU returns to action on Saturday afternoon, weather permitting, to close out play at the HBCU Tennis Invitational.
