Winston-Salem, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Department of Athletics has announced that the Women's Tennis team will begin the 2004 competition season when they play host CIAA rival Bowie State University on March 6th, 2004 at the WSSU Tennis Complex.
WSSU Head Coach Leon Kay and his women's tennis players will battle versus the Lady Bulldogs of Bowie State in CIAA tennis league action beginning at 3:00 pm.
The WSSU Lady Rams tennis team will be returning to action for the first in 2004 as they look to improve on 2003's 7-9 overall record and seventh place finish at the 2003 CIAA Tennis Championships.
The Lady Rams placed seventh out of eight teams at the 2003 CIAA Tennis Championships last spring in Charlotte, NC, finishing ahead of Bowie State University.
Head Coach Leon Kay has once again assembled a very talented roster of student-athletes and looks forward to the 2004 season to continue the success of Lady Rams tennis at WSSU.
