Lady Rams Sign Gabrielle Benjamin To National Letter of Intent

May 15, 2007

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Winston-Salem State University head tennis coach Charlie Schoderbek announced on Tuesday that Gabrielle Benjamin has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend WSSU and become a member of the Lady Rams' tennis team.

Benjamin, a native of Columbia, South Carolina will graduate from Richland Northeast High School where she was a member of the Cavaliers' tennis team for three seasons filling the third singles slot.

The 2005 and 2006 "Coaches Award" recipient, Benjamin was a regional team qualifier in both her junior and senior seasons en route to a second-place finish this past year.

"Gabrielle will help mend the holes left in our lineup by the graduation of our seniors and the departure of a few other key players.  She has tremendous potential and I look forward to working her into our lineup as we continue to move the WSSU program forward towards more success" WSSU head coach Charlie Schoderbek said.

The daughter of Gwen and Eugene Benjamin, Gabrielle Benjamin will join the Lady Rams' tennis team in August of 2007.
