INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The indoor track & field season isn't over for two of the Rams as WSSU junior sprinter Ma'Kyia Gayden and sophomore sprinter Victoria Porter were both selected as participants in the 2019 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championship Meet. The duo were among 270 women selected for participation in the championship meet. The duo earned their selection after reaching provisional qualifying standards in their respective events.
Gayden earned a spot on the women's 60m dash after running a season-best 7.47 in the event at the USC Indoor Open. Her time placed her in a tie for the fourth best time in the nation. She also ran a 7.54 to win the women's 60m dash at the 2019 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet.
Porter qualified for a spot at the national championship meet after running a 55.16 at the 2019 CIAA Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet. She will head into the national championship meet ranked 21st in the nation in the event.
