Personal: The 2008-09 season marks Brown's third year as a member of the WSSU track and field teams where she will compete in the sprinting events. A native of Raleigh, NC, she is a 2006 graduate of Leesville Road High School where she was the Pride's MVP in 2004-05 and 2005-06. She is the school record holder in the 200m and 400m at Leesville Road H.S. Earned a track and field state championship in the 500m in 2005-06. Named a scholar-athlete all four years in High School. The daughter of Merley and Jody Brown. An Exercise Science major at WSSU. Born in Rochester, NY on March 9, 1988. Nicknamed "Vonna".
