Personal: Coach Wesley Chapman joined the Winston-Salem State University Track and Field Team in the fall of 2007. A WSSU alumnus and former track and field athlete for the Rams, Champan competed in the hurdles, long jump and triple jump.
He currently serves as the team's Operations Manager. Chapman is charged with all equipment and apparel concerns, housing, meals and hotel accommodations. On the track Chapman works with the Rams and Lady Rams jumpers.
A licensed and certified massage therapist, Chapman works closely with the WSSU Office of Sports Medicine in providing massage therapy for the track teams.
A native of Philadelphia, Pa., Champan is a 1994 graduate of Winston-Salem State University with a B. S. in Sports Management and Physical Education (K-12). He is also a member of Kappa Kappa Psi Fraternity (Music), Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. and is a member of the National Body and Massage Therapy Association.
