Personal: Korin Shepherd will join the Lady Rams track & field teams this fall as a member of a talented freshman class...She was a multiple sport athlete at Mallard Creek High School where she competed in cross country as well as in the 800m run, and relay events...She was also a great leader on her team at Mallard Creek High School where her former cross country head coach Joan Green said: "She is a hard worker, dependable, and respectful. These qualities will place her in high esteem amongst her fellow athletes. She serves as a calming force when interactions among her teammates are moving in a less than positive direction."...During her career at Mallard Creek High School, she earned Outstanding Female Athlete in 2009 and set a number of school records including the girls' 800m run and was a member of the school record-setting 4x800m and 4x400m relay teams...She also earned four varsity letter in track & field and earned a spot in the North Carolina 4A Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships...She is also active in the community, taking part in the NAACP and DECA...She is a Nursing major and the daughter of Marc and Odette Shepherd.
