The WSSU track and field programs, in their first year of resurrection, under the guidance of three-time US Olympian Halcyon M. Blake, returned to the track this weekend at the FAMU Relays for the first time in half of a decade versus very stiff Division I track and field talent.
The women fared very well as
Wykeita Barnett placed seventh in the women's 100 meter dash as she turned in a time of 12.63 seconds.
The women's 400 meter hurdles saw WSSU place two runners in the top ten as Malliron Hodges placed seventh with a time of 1:14.57 and teammate Jessica Adams-Alexander was eighth with a time of
Rounding out the top ten's was the most impressive performance of the weekend as Irene Jeptolo won the women's 3000 meters with a time of 10:51.34.
