WSSU Track & Field Teams Strong on First Day of 2009 Reebok Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, NC - The Winston-Salem State University track & field teams got a solid start the 2009 Reebok Raleigh Relays, Friday afternoon with a number of great performances. Friday's action was a great opener for the main event tomorrow as the team competes in a number of events.

For the third time in as many outdoor meets, WSSU senior sprinter Wykeita Barnett qualified for the finals in the women's 100m dash with a 13th-place 12.19 in the event. She will be followed by Ram freshman Paul Williams, who alsof qualified for the finals of the men's 100m dash. He finished 15th in the preliminaries of the event in 10.96.

WSSU senior sprinter Gerrod Sidbury also had a good day as the Wilmington, N.C. native placed ninth in the men's 400m dash in 47.66.
