WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (5-8, 5-3 CIAA) fought off an aggressive Saint Augustine's Falcons (6-8, 6-2 CIAA) for a three-set home victory. The match was a see-saw battle for all three sets with the Lady Rams getting the points when they needed them to pick up the win, 25-23, 25-19, and 28-26.
The Lady Rams recorded double-digit kills in all three sets of the match, with 11 in the first set, 12 in the second set, and 10 in the third set. For the match, the Lady Rams totaled 33 kills in the match while adding 40 digs. WSSU sophomore outside hitter Avoni Seymour led the Lady Rams to the win with 13 kills with just five attack errors. Freshman outside hitter Brittany Rich added five service aces, 10 digs, and five kills in the match as well. Senior setter Kiara Brown added 30 assists in the match.
With the win, the Lady Rams improve to 5-8 overall and 5-3 in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA).
