Lady Rams Struggle in Four-Set Loss to Virginia State

MURFREESBORO, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (0-10, 0-2 CIAA) struggled late in a tough four-set loss to the Virginia State Lady Trojans (2-5, 2-0 CIAA), Saturday morning at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Round-Up. Though the Lady Rams showed some fight early in the match, the team ran into some late struggles to take the loss, 18-25, 26-24, 10-25, and 13-25.  

The Lady Rams had a strong offensive effort in the match, with a team total of 42 kills in the match, six more than their opponents. However, the team's offense did as much damage to themselves with 31 hitting errors and 12 receiving errors in the match. WSSU junior outside hitter Katelyn Sigala led the WSSU attack with 11 kills in the match while senior right side Francesca Edgerton added seven kills with just one error.
