RALEIGH, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (6-17, 6-7 CIAA) ended a three-match losing streak, Monday evening when the team took a three-set win over the Saint Augustine's Lady Falcons (5-16, 5-8 CIAA). The team used a great overall effort, combined with a great service effort to secure the big road win, 25-23, 25-20, and 25-14.
The Lady Rams finished the match with seven service aces and 32 total kills to pick up the win. WSSU junior outside hitter Avoni Seymour led the Lady Rams to the win with 12 kills in the match. She also added four digs. Senior middle blocker De Ann Smith added seven kills while freshman middle blocker Olivia Owens added four service aces.
The Lady Rams will remain on the road for their next competition when the team heads to Laurinburg, N.C. to take on the Saint Andrew's Presbyterian Knights.
