LINCOLN, PA. – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (2-4, 2-0 CIAA) kept their momentum going when the team stormed back for a five-set win over the Virginia Union Lady Panthers, Saturday afternoon. After a see-saw battle in the first three sets, the Lady Rams took control in the final two sets to close out the day with their second straight victory.
The Lady Rams fell behind after the first two sets, falling 25-23 in the opening set, rallying for an impressive 25-12 win in the second set, and falling, 26-28 in the third set. However, the team stormed back for wins in the final two sets, 25-16, and finally, 16-14.
WSSU senior outside hitter Katelin Wensley led the way with 15 kills and 16 digs for a double-double effort in the match while fellow senior hitter Avoni Seymour added 11 kills of her own. Junior setter Kayla Brass coordinated the WSSU effort with 37 assists.
