Lady Rams Roll in Four-Set Win Over North Greenville

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (4-4) took a dramatic four-set win over the North Greenville Crusaders (1-8), Tuesday evening. The win was the fourth straight victory for the Lady Rams and gave the team a victory in their home opener. The Lady Rams held off the feisty Crusaders for the win, 25-22, 22-25, 25-21, and 31-29.

The Lady Rams took the win behind a strong overall effort with 59 total digs and 47 kills. WSSU senior outside hitter Katelin Wensley led the way for the team with a double-double 12 kills and 14 digs in the match while freshman middle hitter Jocelyn Mills added 11 kills and six total blocks (two solo). Defensively, senior Katelyn Sigala led the effort with 15 digs.

With the win, the Lady Rams improve to 4-4 overall and will face a big challenge when they host the defending Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) champion Fayetteville State Lady Broncos, Thursday evening.
