WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (6-5) saw their six-match winning streak snapped, Thursday evening when the team took a tough four-set loss to the Pfeiffer Falcons (3-9). Though there was no shortage of effort in the match, the Lady Rams struggled to overcome some attack woes in the hard-fought loss, 25-16, 20-25, 20-25, and 23-25.
As a team, the Lady Rams managed a solid 32 kills in the match, but struggled with 26 attack errors. The team was also plagued by receiving errors, allowing 12 service aces to the Falcons. WSSU senior Katelin Wensley led the way for the team with a match high eight kills in the match. She also recorded a team-high 10 digs as well. Junior Darissa Jones added six kills as well.
With the loss, the Lady Rams fall to 6-5 on the season, but will head into the weekend's Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Round-Up having won six of their last seven matches.
