CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (14-11) had their three-match winning streak snapped, Friday afternoon when the team took a tough three-set loss at Queens (N.C.). The Lady Rams' offense struggled against the Royals' defense as the team fell, 25-19, 25-11, and 25-23.
The Lady Rams' offense was stymied by the Queens (N.C.) defense as WSSU managed just 21 kills in the match. The Lady Rams also totaled just four service aces. WSSU senior outside hitter Avoni Seymour led the way with nine kills in the match. Junior middle hitter Darrisa Jones was the next closest with four kills. Jones also added six total blocks (none solo) in the match. Defensively, senior libero Katelyn Sigala totaled 13 digs in the match.
With the loss, the Lady Rams fall to 14-11 for the season. The team will wrap up the regular season, Monday when they host the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls in a 6:00 p.m. senior night match.
