WSSU Junior Jocelyn Mills Completes Internship with Dress for Success

February 4, 2015Lady Rams to Hold Open TryoutsWINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams volleyball team will hold open tryouts on Friday, February, 27, 2015 in Whitaker Gymnasium on the campus of Winston-Salem State University. The tryouts will be open to current Winston-Salem State University students, high school seniors, or players who have not competed in any collegiate athletics, but are high school graduates.
January 13, 2015Twelve Lady Rams Earn 3.0 of Higher GPAsWINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams volleyball continued their history of success in the classroom this season when 12 Lady Rams were named to the 2014 WSSU Dean’s List. The student-athletes were named to the list after earning a scholastic grade point average of 3.0 or higher on more than 12 hours of graded coursework in an academic semester.
November 15, 2014Lady Rams Overpowered in Three-Set Loss to Chowan in CIAA Volleyball SemifinalsFAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (15-15) had no answer for the Chowan Hawks (26-5), Saturday when the team took a tough three-set loss in the semifinal round of the 2014 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Championship Tournament. The Lady Rams gave a solid effort in the match, but the team could not find an answer for the high-powered Hawks and they fell 24-26, 17-25, and 21-25.
November 14, 2014Lady Rams Open 2014 CIAA Tournament with Five-Set Win Over Elizabeth City StateFAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (15-14) survived and advanced in the opening round of the 2014 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Championship Tournament, Friday afternoon when they took a five-set win over the Elizabeth City State Vikings (8-17). After opening the match with a pair of set losses 23-25 and 15-25, the Lady Rams battled back with three straight set wins, 25-15, 25-19, and 20-18 to take the win and advanced to the semifinal round of the tournament.

Highlighting the honors was freshman outside hitter Sydney Holland who was named the 2014 CIAA Rookie of the Year.
November 8, 2014Lady Rams Give Their All in Five-Set Loss at ShippensburgSHIPPENSBURG, PA – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (14-14) left it all out on the court, but the effort was enough as the team took a tough five-set loss to the Shippensburg Raiders (18-16) to close out the regular season. The Lady Rams didn’t go down easily as the team rebounded late in the thrilling 17-25, 24-26, 26-24, 31-29, and 8-15 loss.
