November 1, 2016 Lytton Named CIAA Rookie of the Week Once Again CHARLOTTE, NC – For the second week in a row, Winston-Salem State freshman libero Makala Lytton was honored as the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Rookie of the Week. In addition to claiming the honor last week, Lytton brought it home once again for her stellar defensive play on the court.
October 31, 2016 Rams Battle, But Fall Short in Four-Set Loss to Shaw WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (16-12, 11-3 CIAA) gave it all they had, but the team did not quite have enough as they took a four-set loss to the Shaw Lady Bears (17-11, 12-2 CIAA), Monday evening. The Rams showed some fight in all four sets of the match, but the team could quite get the points they needed as the team fell short, 25-22, 21-25, 22-25, and 23-25.
October 28, 2016 Rams Struggle Late in Four-Set Loss to Belmont Abbey WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (16-11) took their first home loss of the season when the team took a four-set loss to the Belmont Abbey Crusaders (15-11), Friday evening. The Rams played well in spots, but faltered late to take their first home loss of the season, 24-26, 25-22, 23-25, and 16-25.
October 25, 2016 Rams Defense Keys Three-Set Win at Saint Augustine's RALEIGH, NC - The Winston-Salem State Rams (16-10, 11-2 CIAA) notched a key Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division win, Tuesday evening when the team took a three-set road win over the Saint Augustine’s Falcons (8-11, 6-7 CIAA). The Rams put on a dominating defensive effort to take the win, 25-22, 25-19, and 25-9.
October 22, 2016 Rams Take Three-Set Loss at Concord CONCORD, WV – The Winston-Salem State Rams (15-10) struggled mightily when the team took a three-set loss to the Concord Mountain Lions (13-11), Saturday afternoon. The points were hard to come by for the Rams as the team fell, 14-25, 17-25, and 23-25.
October 22, 2016 Rams Struggle in Four-Set Loss to West Virginia Wesleyan CONCORD, WV – The Winston-Salem State Rams (15-9) could not find the offensive answers when the team took a hard-fought four-set loss to the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats (7-17), Saturday morning. A second set win was as much as the Rams could muster as the team fell, 21-25, 25-21, 14-25, and 16-25.
