Mills Named to NCCSIA College Division All-State Team

BELMONT, NC – This has been a season to remember for Winston-Salem State University junior middle blocker Jocelyn Mills and it keeps getting better as she was honored by being named to the 2015 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) College Division All-State volleyball team. WHEELING, WVA – The Winston-Salem State University Rams’ (22-8) season came to an end when the team took a three-set loss to the Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals (34-4), Thursday in the opening round of the 2015 NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Tournament. Entering the tournament as the eighth-seeded team, the Rams struggled to get their offense going against the top-seeded host Cardinals as the team fell, 25-7, 25-10, and 25-11.[read more]

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Rams (22-7) claimed their first Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Championship when they took a four-set win over the Shaw Bears (21-11). With the win, the Rams earned the first CIAA Volleyball Championship for Winston-Salem State in program history dating back to 1978.[read more]
November 21, 2015Rams Advance to CIAA Volleyball Championship Match with Four-Set Win Over Virginia StateFAYETTEVILLE, NC- The storybook season continues for the Winston-Salem State University Rams (21-7) when the team advanced to the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Championship match with a four-set win over the Virginia State Trojans (19-9) in the semifinal round, Saturday afternoon. After taking wins in the first two sets, 25-21 and 25-19, the Rams took a 25-27 fourth set loss to the Trojans before sealing the win with a 25-14 fourth set victory.

Lady Lions (6-14) in three sets Friday afternoon to secure a spot in the semifinal round of the 2015 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Championship Tournament, Saturday. The win puts the Rams into new territory as the team’s 20 wins are the most in in nearly two decades.

WSSU senior right side hitter Olivia Owens and junior middle blocker Jocelyn Mills both took home first team All-CIAA honors for the Rams.
November 12, 2015Rams Claim Top Spot in CIAA with Three-Set Win Over LivingstoneWINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State University Rams volleyball team (19-7, 15-1 CIAA) claimed the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division and the best record in the CIAA, Thursday evening when the team took a three-set win over the Livingstone Blue Bears (9-15, 4-12 CIAA). With the win, the Rams finish the 2015 regular season with a 15-1 record in the CIAA and a 9-1 record in the CIAA Southern Division to claim their second division title in the last three seasons.
