Winston-Salem, NC - The Lady Rams looked to Tuesday's match-up versus the Lady Eagles of North Carolina Central University to get back on track and perhaps earn their first win of the season. However, it was not meant to be as the Lady Rams fell in three straight games to the Lady Eagles, 30-19, 30-17, 34-32, to fall to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the CIAA.
Despite the best efforts of Lady Rams' offensive powers Ebony Douglas (Jr./5'9"/OH/Raleigh, NC) and Jamila Dalton (Jr./5'11"/MH/Schenectady, NY), who registered seven kills each, the Lady Rams fell victim to a very powerful Lady Eagle team.
North Carolina Central was paced by 2002 All-Rookie Team member Porche Williams (So./5-11/MH/Long Beach, CA) who tallied 13 kills while committing only three errors (.455) in the match.
With the win, the Lady Eagles improve to 4-11 overall (2-0 CIAA) while the Lady Rams fall to 0-5 overall (0-2 CIAA).
